SKILL- ETHON for Capacity Building and Skill Enhancement

The department of English had conducted a competition named SKILL- ETHON under the “Capacity Building and Skill Enhancement” initiative for the registered students on Wednesday 23 August, 2023 in Room No. 21 at 1 pm. The competition was open for students from all three years. The Greek word “Ethon” means strong and firm. The objective of this competition was to ‘Strengthen’ the LSRW ( Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills of our students. The activity involved using their mobiles to answer while ‘Listening’ to an audio file and attempting a questionnaire based on it followed by a ‘Reading’ comprehension passage likewise. In the ‘Writing’ segment, they had to write taglines for the given three pictures and an Acrostic poem based on the theme and word “LIFE”, while the ‘Speaking’ segment was assessed through recitation of the Acrostic Poem attempted by them. The registered students seemed very enthusiastic and expressed their excitement over the different levels of assessments made available through the digital media as scan codes were provided for them to access the different google quiz forms. In all, it was an edutainment experience for the participants.
