St. Mary’s Centenary Degree College is a Catholic Christian Minority Institution established in 2001 under the aegis of the Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society. Affiliated to Osmania University and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f), the college has grown into a premier center for higher education in Telangana.
Strategically located just 1 km from Secunderabad Railway Station, SMCDC is easily accessible and continues to be the preferred choice for students from both urban and rural backgrounds. The college is known for its robust academic framework, experienced faculty, and student-centric approach to learning that fosters strong conceptual understanding.
Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, the college actively promotes excellence not just in academics but also in sports and cultural arenas, consistently earning laurels at various levels. Our Journey – Proud Past. Promising Future. 25 Years of St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s Centenary Degree College (SMCDC) was established in 2001 under the aegis of the Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society as a Catholic Christian Minority co-educational institution. The college was founded to mark the centenary celebrations of St. Mary’s High School (established in 1895) and St. Mary’s Centenary Junior College (established in 1985), continuing a proud legacy of transformative education rooted in faith, values, and service.
Guided by its patron, Blessed Mother Mary, the college upholds the core values of Love, Service, and Sacrifice, symbolically enshrined in its emblem: Love for Humanity, Service to Society, and Sacrifice to God. With the vision “to be an educational hub for a student’s holistic development and thus empower them with tools of love, service, and sacrifice to become catalysts of positive change toward a better society,” SMCDC began its academic journey with affiliation to Osmania University and recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f).
Conveniently located in the heart of Hyderabad, just 1 km from Secunderabad Railway and Bus Stations, the college opened in 2001 with a modest intake of 80 students in B.Com (General) and B.Com (Computers). Responding to growing academic demand, the college gradually expanded its intake across these programs in the following years and introduced new academic streams:
- 2003–04: Intake increased for B.Com (General) to 60
- 2008–09: B.Com (Computers) increased to 80; B.Com (General) to 100
- 2009–10: B.Com (Computers) to 100; B.Com (General) to 110
- 2012–13: Introduction of BBA (50 intake) and B.Com (Computer Applications) (60 intake)
- Subsequent Years: Demand led to increased intake—B.Com (Computers) to 180, B.Com (General) to 120, BBA to 60
- 2017–18: Launch of B.Com (Tax Procedures) with an intake of 60
- 2018–19: BBA intake enhanced to 120
- 2022–23: Launch of B.Com (Business Analytics) and BBA (Business Analytics) with 60 seats each
- 2025: Launch of B.Com (Honours) program to meet the growing demand for specialized commerce education and competitive academic rigor
Over the last two and a half decades, SMCDC has emerged as a center of academic excellence with over two decades of administrative experience, academic distinction, and student accomplishments across disciplines. The college boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, a robust academic environment, dedicated and qualified faculty, and a strong emphasis on value-added courses and holistic development through various events, clubs, and co-curricular activities.
Our alumni, placed worldwide, continue to reflect the institution’s enduring impact. Under the visionary leadership of His Eminence Cardinal Rev. Poola Anthony, Chairman of HAES, and the dynamic academic stewardship of Rev. Fr. Dr. P. Anthony Vinay, SMCDC remains committed to pursuing academic excellence and social transformation.

- Marys Centenary Degree College was awarded with BEST COLLEGE AWARD – PLACEMENT CATEGORY by STUMAGZ at Undergrad Summit organized on 30th March, 2019.
- Mary’s Centenary Degree College was awarded with Global Outreach Education Award for excellence in - "Private College” at Global Outreach Research and Education Summit and Awards 2019 being hosted by Global Outreach Research and Education Association on 30th April, 2019.
- Mary’s Centenary Degree College is recognized as Member of National Rural Entrepreneurship Mission by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural education, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India
