St. Mary’s Centenary Degree College marked a memorable day on 9th August 2024 with the grand celebration of Freshers’ Day in the college auditorium. The event, organized to welcome the new batch of first-year students, was a vibrant and joyous occasion filled with excitement, creativity, and camaraderie. Event Highlights: The day began with a warm welcome from the senior students, who took charge of organizing the event and making the newcomers feel at home. The college auditorium was beautifully decorated, creating an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the celebrations. 1. Inaugural Session: The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by an inspiring speech by the Principal, Rev. Fr. P. Anthony Vinay. In his address, he welcomed the new students, encouraging them to make the most of their college years and actively participate in academic and extracurricular activities. 2. Cultural Performances: The highlight of the day was the array of cultural performances put together by both senior and first-year students. These included: • Dance Performances: Energetic and diverse dance routines that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of the students. • Musical Performances: Music performed by Mr. Jayanth and his group captivated the audience. 3. Mr. and Ms. Fresher Contest: One of the most anticipated segments of the day was the "Mr. and Ms. Fresher" contest. Participants showcased their talents, answered spontaneous questions, and walked the ramp. The titles of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher were awarded to the most impressive participants, who were chosen based on their confidence, personality, and performance. The event concluded with closing remarks from the Cultural committee, who expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the day a success. The vote of thanks acknowledged the efforts of the organizing team, the participants, and the college staff who contributed to the event's smooth execution.
